Anita Nettles Stefanski
Anita has been living on Nantucket for over 30 years, more than 18 of which have been spent working in the landscaping industry. Previously Anita worked professionally in the culinary arts locally and abroad. Being the daughter of the talented and renowned weaver and designer, the late Margareta G. Nettles, has helped influence understanding and use of color and texture in her garden designs. Her infectious outgoing demeanor coupled with a sincere love for her work has contributed to Florabundant's continuing success, and is one of the reasons why their clientele are among the happiest.
Julie grew up in Pennsylvania and earned a BA in sociology / anthropology with a focus on public health at Denison University. She traveled extensively and before she came to Nantucket, was interested in working as a health advocate in Tanzania. But the opportunity to stay and build a life and business on Nantucket outshone her desire to remain in public health.
Anita and Julie worked together for a former employer where they both learned hands on how to design, install, and maintain gardens, interact with clients directly, and run a crew efficiently. After being laid off, they decided they had enough learned experience to run a lanscaping business on their own. Here they are, almost twenty years later and still in business together... following their still vital passion for gardening and now delving into creating floral designs for events. Always experimenting with unusual plants and designs unique to their company, they are known for their attention to detail.
